Aeron Chair Sizes: A, B, and C

One of the standout features of the Herman Miller Aeron Chair is that it is available in three different sizes to better match your body type and comfort needs. Instead of forcing a universal fit, Aeron gives you three tailored options: Size A, Size B, and Size C, so you can find the chair that supports you just right.

Here is everything you need to know about each size:

Size A (Small)

  • Best for: People under 5 feet 4 inches and under 150 pounds
  • Seat width: Approximately 25.75 inches
  • Seat depth: Approximately 15.75 inches
  • Recommended weight range: 90 to 150 pounds
  • Recommended height range: Up to about 5 feet 4 inches

Why choose Size A
Ideal for smaller users who often find standard chairs too large. Size A provides proportionate support and a more natural seating experience for petite frames.

Size B (Medium, Most Common)

  • Best for: People between 5 feet 5 inches and 6 feet 2 inches and 150 to 230 pounds
  • Seat width: Approximately 27 inches
  • Seat depth: Approximately 17 inches
  • Recommended weight range: 130 to 230 pounds
  • Recommended height range: 5 feet 5 inches to 6 feet 2 inches

Why choose Size B
This is the most widely used size and fits the largest range of users. If you are unsure which size to pick and fall somewhere in the middle, Size B is almost always the right choice.

Size C (Large)

  • Best for: People over 6 feet 2 inches and over 230 pounds
  • Seat width: Approximately 28.25 inches
  • Seat depth: Approximately 18.5 inches
  • Recommended weight range: 230 to 350 pounds
  • Recommended height range: 6 feet 2 inches and up

Why choose Size C
Made for taller and larger users who need more space and extra support. Size C offers a deeper seat and wider frame for maximum comfort without compromising ergonomics.

Tips for Choosing the Right Size

  • Use your height and weight as a starting point
  • If you are between sizes, consider how you like to sit. If you sit more upright and close to your desk, the smaller size may feel better. If you prefer more room to move or recline, the larger size might be best
  • When in doubt, Size B is the most versatile option for most people

Other Helpful Information

  • All three sizes come with the same features, adjustments, and build quality
  • The size label is embossed on the top back edge of the chair. Flip the chair around and look behind the backrest to see a letter A, B, or C
  • You are not sacrificing any comfort or functionality by picking a smaller or larger size. It is all about finding the right fit
